Based on that advice, in 1998, Bithari United Club of Bithari village in Swarupnagar block of North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal joined the blood donation movement and started working with the help of a voluntary organization called Swanirbhar. Within 2 years of starting the work, the terrible flood of 2000 occurred. We all started working together to fight that flood. But while doing this social work, we kept falling prey to party politics.
